Please mark your calendars with these important dates:
- March 12th, 7:00PM: Parent Education Night: Shattering Stigma with Tara Rolstad. An evening focused on mental health awareness.
Shattering Stigma: March 12th, 7:00PM. For our March 12th Parent Education Night, Tara Rolstad will give us a sneak peek into what she'll be sharing with our kid's the next day, including: When it comes to mental health, what's normal? How is a middle schooler's brain different (and maybe better) than a grownup's? What mental health issues do kids commonly experience and what might that feel like? How should they know when to ask for help, and how do they do that? What does getting help even look like? What if they are really worried about a friend, how can they be a good friend and when should they help them get help? Plus, cool things kids can do to manage stress, how to pick their favorite coping skills, and a little brain science behind why parents freak about screen time. We will also have to opportunity for Q&A with Tara and psychologist Kristin Valerius, Ph.D, of the Sundstrom Clinic.
Please help us spread the word about this important event. The parent talk is open to any parent in the district. Check out the Shattering Stigma Website: http://shatteringstigma.com/
