Hello LJHS Parent Community,
The end of the school year has arrived. Some of you are celebrating, some of you are a little sad, and some of you have been going so fast you’re probably a little surprised it’s here already. Maybe you’re all three! Regardless, it’s time for goodbyes, thank yous and recognition of the good work we’ve ALL done.
We raised a lot of money and have been very purposeful about applying the funds to where they could have the most impact while always keeping an eye on how our purchases can be used in the new building. We hope you’ve benefited from one of the many parent education opportunities we’ve provided on such topics as parenting in the digital age, substance abuse, raising resilient kids, and understanding mental health. Most importantly, we hope you feel like our Parent Club meetings have given you the opportunity to ask questions and have your voice heard. Curriculum, bus safety, school safety, start times, the bond, technology use, new building -- we covered it all!
None of our efforts would have been possible without the support of our school administration, counselors and teachers. We are truly fortunate to have such a solid working partnership with these folks. Many thanks to everyone at LJHS, especially Principal Kurt Schultz, for all that they do for our school, our parents and our students.
And of course we couldn't do all that we do without our generous parent volunteers -- community events, fundraising, field trips, art literacy, school store, lunch monitors, and so much more. We want to say thank YOU for being an involved parent community. Thank you for stepping up and speaking up. You make the difference!
Finally, we're proud to pass the baton onto the new year's Parent Club Executive Board members. It's a great team and we're looking forward to their leadership and a great year ahead! 2018-2019 LJHS Parent Club Executive Board: Tamara DiVergilio and Ashley Krause (Co-Presidents); Sarah Howell and Kirsten Carnese (Co-Vice Presidents); Lara James (Secretary); Zsuzsanna Winston (Treasurer); and Lynne Thompson (Volunteer Coordinator).
